The Workforce Compensation and Performance Services Office of Compensation
Administration will meet with the IAG Subsidiary on Compensation Policy on
February 22, 2000, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the OPM auditorium, to
review and discuss Governmentwide compensation policies and programs. The

Administration.
We issued a memorandum on December 3, 1999 (CPM
99-6), announcing our plans for a meeting in February and requested your
comments and suggestions on what you would like discussed. We thank you for
your informative responses and comments.
Below are highlights of the topics we plan to discuss at the February
meeting:
- Pay flexibilities, such as the Office of Personnel Managements recent
study of recruitment, retention, and relocation incentives and legislative
and regulatory initiatives to broaden these authorities.
- Pay initiatives, such as the legislative proposal to revise overtime pay
limitations and a project to establish special salary rates for information
technology employees.
- Recent changes in regulations, including miscellaneous changes in
compensation regulations, the maximum limitation on physicians comparability
allowances, entitlement to back pay, and holidays outside the U.S.
- Update on the General Schedule pay adjustment process, the Federal Wage
System, and the nonforeign area cost-of-living allowance program.
We plan to provide ample time for discussion of issues that are most
important to you. We hope you will use this opportunity to share your
experiences and problems with the group on administering compensation policies
and programs. We look forward to seeing you.
