Yeda Plus Inc. reports 50% increase in student registration as a result of the Study USA program

YedaPlusOn March 23, 2007, McMinnville, Oregon-based Yeda Plus Inc. registered 11 students for SAT, TOEFL and GRE courses as a direct result of the company's participation in the CS organized Study USA fair in January 2007. Over the past two years, Commercial Specialist Alan Wielunski has developed a close working relationship with Yeda Plus, which included collaboration on a number of outreach activities such as client conference calls to US-based international recruiters and identifying locally based alumni association representatives.

President of Yeda Plus, Mr. Steve Antinucci stated "Our collaboration at the Educational Fair held in Tel-Aviv in January 2007 has proven to be highly successful. The presence of the US Commercial Service and the Study USA program has led to a 50% increase in our signing students to our courses. Gold Key Success for Yonkers Medical Company

Skil-Care Corporation, a Yonkers-based manufacturer of wheelchair seating, safety, and positioning devices, rehabilitation aids, and pressure-sore prevention products has just appointed Chemitec, Ltd as their distributor in Israel.

Working with the Westchester, New York Export Assistance Center, Skil-Care’s management decided to pursue new overseas markets –Israel among them. Skil-Care’s biggest challenge was to understand the nature of the Israeli hospital, nursing home, and rehabilitation markets. Our Gold Key Service provided Skil-Care Corporation’s President Mr. Arnold Silverman with important market information that enabled him to determine which of his firm’s many products would have the highest likelihood of success in Israel. Gold Key then arranged meetings with several distributors whose customer base appeared to be the best match for these products.

Following the Gold Key meetings, Skil-care selected Chemitec, Ltd. to handle the Skil-Care line. Chemitec has already placed a first order for a wide range of Skil-Care products.

IMimic appoints new Israeli representative

TX-based information technologies company iMimic participated in the July 2004 Access Eastern Mediterranean (AEM) Information and Communication Technologies Program. Commercial Specialist Sigal Mendelovich in Tel Aviv proactively promoted the event to hundreds of local contacts, identifying potential agents and distributors in each of their respective markets. In Israel, Mendelovich carefully matched iMimic’s interest with that of local agents, distributors and end-users and presented these candidates to the Houston-based company. The company then appointed a new Israeli representative as a direct result of CS’ service.

Increasing Traffic to NY Travel Destinations

Alliance for Downtown New York was featured in the Summer 2005 in-flight magazine of an Israeli airline generating interest among 170,000 readers. The article represents $6,000 in free advertising for the New York based Pow Wow exhibitor promoting local hotspots such as the Financier Patisserie, Ulysses Bar, Waterstone Grill, Amazing Thai, Cassis on Stone Bistro, Smorgas Chef and Bayard's. This special feature was the result of CS Tel Aviv's customized service to the Travel Industry Association of America (TIA). For the past six years CS Tel Aviv has been organizing and leading the Israeli buyers and media delegations to the International Pow Wow show, the travel industry's largest trade show. Pow-Wow is the world's premier "SeeAmerica Marketplace," where international buyers meet face-to-face with the leading U.S. travel suppliers and destinations to conduct business. Israeli tour operators and wholesalers are eligible to participate in Pow Wow if they generate, or have the capability to generate, significant Visit USA travel from Israel and commit to attend at least 30 pre-scheduled appointments with U.S. suppliers/exhibitors during an intensive 3-days trade event.

StatLab completes first sales to Israel

StatLab, the Lewisville, Texas based manufacturer of Disquick completed an initial shipment to Israel. Disquick, a chemical reagent used in veterinary medicine to trace blood in samples required a special shipping process and International Sales Representative Mr. Jim Markham needed time to educate himself in the intricacies of the export/import regulations unique to Israel. Commercial Specialist Yael Torres enlisted the assistance of North Texas Export Assistance Center Senior International Trade Specialist Greg Thompson who contacted Mr. Markham to discuss the process of shipping hazmat to Israel. Mr. Markham thanked us and wrote, "If I have a question for which I cannot find an answer on www.export.gov, North Texas EAC Sr. International Trade Specialist Greg Thompson is always happy to personally lend me assistance in export counseling. The U.S. Department of Commerce's domestic and overseas international trade specialists are definitely an asset to any U.S. company doing international business".
