IBC 2008

Run by the industry for the industry, IBC is striving for being the world's best event for everyone involved in the creation, management and delivery of content for the entertainment industry.

IBC2007 welcomed 46.964 visitors and over 1,300 exhibits from over 120 countries, which made this the largest IBC ever. The demand for more exhibition space, particularly in the areas of IPTV and Mobile are testament to the fact that IBC is not standing still.

IBC returns to the RAI Centre in Amsterdam, with the conference opening on 11 September and the exhibition running from 12 to 16 September 2008. The website http://www.ibc.org is the best source of information about last year’s event and will provide data about the next ones.

Companies will be showcasing in the RAI the latest technology and foremost business ideas in broadcasting and new media. In the halls of the centre, the visitors will receive the support they need to find rapidly what they desire to see the most.

Besides, visitors are invited to intend IBC Conference, which aim is to provide information, production techniques and technological developments. IBC is open to any professional proposals, but the offers containing overt commercialism and product sales pitches and/or non-specific proposals from PR agencies will not be considered.

Washington RFID Matchmaking Event

Exploring Transatlantic Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Partnerships

Washington, DC, September 23rd 2008 The U.S. Department of Commerce, in cooperation with the European Commission, will be hosting a matchmaking event for U.S. and European companies in Washington, DC on September 23rd, at which new transatlantic RFID partnerships and/or technical exchanges will be explored. The event will take place following the Transatlantic Symposium on the Societal Benefits of RFID and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s workshop on RFID and privacy. The Department of Commerce and the European Commission hope that prospective partnerships will help to strengthen transatlantic cooperation on RFID technology, standards, and policy.

  • systems integrators, and
  • application users  

While the organizers welcome participation by companies of any size, the event especially will be beneficial to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The event will provide you with opportunities to make contact with potential business partners from across the Atlantic and to explore new transatlantic partnerships to develop and implement RFID technology.

A limited number of participants will be invited to attend the policy-focused RFID Symposium (September 22nd), an in-depth and transatlantic look at the potential societal benefits of RFID and associated policy needs.  Space is very limited – please sign up early to take advantage of this great opportunity.

Smau, International Fair of Information and Communication Technology

Smau, the 45th International Exhibition of Information & Communications Technology, is a business-to-business event. Devoted to the ICT industry, it provides real business opportunities to the professional audience, specialists, corporate decision makers, public administration officials and self-employed professionals. This will be held at Fiera Milano New Rho Pero Exhibition Center, in which the traditional exhibition areas will be complemented by special initiatives, combining display areas and seminar programs.

Thanks to this event, the audience will meet opportunities to expand their global business, meet new partners, develop new contacts and identify new business opportunities on a national and international level, but also on the Italian market.

Last year, 476 exhibitors participated to the 44th International Exhibition of Information & Communications Technology, with a total exhibition area of 35,000 square meters. Nearly 32,000 professionals pre-registered on line and used the advanced web services designed to make their visit to the exhibition easier.

Alongside the traditional exhibition areas, special initiatives were devoted to specific targets and designed to allow visitors to explore and try out the latest technological products, an e-academy was addressed to information and training with over 140 seminars, and numerous conferences. CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia 2008

The international trade fair LASER, also known as the World of Photonics, is both a global center and a showcase for the optical technologies sector. In 2009, it will take place at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. It will focus on the latest products, applications and trends in photonics and pave the way for the transfer of new technologies in industrial applications.

In 2009, they will focus on the theme “light at work”. It is where market leaders and innovative startups will present the entire spectrum of solutions related to the key technology of photonics, such as products, systems and technologies as well as their applications in the widest variety of sectors. More than 1,000 visitors - from Germany and abroad – are expected.

LASER achieved its best results ever in 2007, with 1008 exhibitors, 25.000 visitors and all the world's leading manufacturers on hand.
