The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is seeking qualified individuals to serve as Program Control Officers, performing a wide range of acquisition resource activities for large space system development and acquisition programs (see our website at http://www.nro.gov/.)

Program Control Officers plan, coordinate, develop, and defend budget submittals; monitor and analyze the execution of programs; conduct complex schedule analyses, earned-value analyses, and engineering change management evaluations; make/recommend resource allocation adjustments; participate in source selection activities; and provide overall programmatic and budgetary advice and guidance to managers.

If you are a self-starter who has the ability to gather, manipulate and interpret information using solid analytical and problem-solving skills you'll find this a challenging and rewarding career choice. If you have strong interpersonal, writing and team building skills; and have the ability to multitask within short deadlines the NRO needs you on its financial management team.

Minimum qualifications include an undergraduate degree in business or management. Alternative undergraduate degrees include engineering, engineering management, mathematics, analytical science, or physical science, but all applicants must have completed a minimum of three accounting courses (9 credit hours) with a ā€œCā€ or better. For more senior positions (GS-13/14), candidates must have substantial and progressively responsible acquisition budgeting and fiscal planning experience in industry or the U.S. Government. Intelligence Community experience is a plus, as are advanced degrees and/or Certified Defense Financial Manager and Certified Government Financial Manager certifications.

All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required. To be considered suitable for Agency employment, applicants must generally not have used illegal drugs within the last twelve months.

The issue of illegal drug use prior to twelve months ago is carefully evaluated during the medical and security processing.
