Senator Dorgan has led initiatives to expand industries and bring jobs to North Dakota. He has brought millions of federal research dollars to develop North Dakota’s major universities into world–class research institutions. Dorgan has led the push to diversify our energy portfolio and to help achieve energy security. In addition, he has worked to support and strengthen our agriculture industry.

Improving the Quality of Life for our Families
Senator Dorgan is committed to policies that improve the quality of life for our families. He has worked to help make our families safe, make prescription drugs more affordable, and provide heat in the winter for low income families. Dorgan has also pushed policies to strengthen retirement security and Medicare prescription drug coverage for senior citizens.

Strengthening our Economy
In order to have a strong foundation for a robust economy, Senator Dorgan has worked to stop tax breaks that reward companies that move manufacturing jobs overseas. He supports trade policies that are fair and mutually beneficial to the United States as well as our trading partners. In addition, he has led efforts to help achieve national energy independence by decreasing our country’s reliance on oil from unstable countries around the world.
