  Proceedings of the Fourth Symposium on Studies Related to Continental Margins

A Summary of Year - Nine and Year - Ten Activities

The fourth Continental Margins Symposium was held on November 16-19, 1997 in Corpus Christi, Texas. It was sponsored by the Minerals Management Service and organized by the Texas Bureau of Economic Geology. The goals of the symposium were:
  1. to discuss and disseminate research results from the final years of the Continental Margins program,
  2. to illustrate and evaluate promising research efforts conducted by the coastal states,
  3. to provide an overview of the program,
  4. to encourage discussion of future research directions, and
  5. to provide a representative sampling of industry activities in particular coastal and offshore areas
