Federal firearms laws also include criminal provisions prohibiting certain conduct related to firearms and ammunition.
These include, for example:
Making any
false statement or furnishing false identification in acquiring any firearm
or ammunition from a licensee, 18 U.S.C. 922(a)(6);
Manufacture
or importation of armor piercing ammunition and the sale of such ammunition
by manufacturers and importers, 18 U.S.C. 922(a)(7) and (8);
Theft of
firearms, 18 U.S.C. 922(u), 924(k), 924(l);
Transportation,
shipment, possession, or disposal of stolen firearms or ammunition, 18
U.S.C. 922(j);
Transportation,
shipment, or receipt of firearms having obliterated serial numbers, 18
U.S.C. 922(k);
Possession
of firearms in a school zone, 18 U.S.C. 922(q);
Sale or transfer
of a handgun to a juvenile (less than 18 years of age) and possession
of a handgun by a juvenile, 18 U.S.C. 922(x);
and Use or
carrying of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence or drug trafficking
crime, 18 U.S.C. 924(c).
