To sign up for Vendor Direct Deposit, you must first click here to download the ACH Vendor Direct Deposit Form (3881) This is an archival or historical document and may not reflect current policies and procedures. This form must be printed, completed according to the instructions, and faxed or mailed to SSA. It will take SSA approximately 10 days to process the form once it is received. If a payment is due within the time that it takes to process the form, payment will not be held up. You will receive a check. If you have already filled out an enrollment form and are currently receiving deposits you do not have to complete another. You must, however, update your enrollment should any banking information change (e.g.:bank merges, change of banks, change of bank accounts, etc.) Your bank is responsible for notifying you of what the deposit is for. SSA sends an addendum record, which is an electronic check stub, that details invoice information such as the invoice number, invoice date, etc. Whatever you would normally receive on a paper check stub is what will be transmitted to your bank. Discuss with your bank , their method of notification to you. You can also connect to the Department of Treasury's PAID system, for more information about invoice payments. Do not send the vendor enrollment form over the Internet. Please fax the form to us at (410) 965-9248 or mail it to: Social Security Administration |
The Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996 requires that any vendor entering into a contract or order with the Federal Government on or after July 26, 1996 be enrolled in direct deposit to receive payment. As the term "direct deposit" implies, funds will be credited into your bank account and are available on the payment due date. | |||||
