Office of Inspector General -->
Office of AuditsThe Office of Audits, being part of the GSA Office of Inspector General (OIG), is subject to mandated performance requirements and dual reporting responsibilities and has multiple customers. The Inspector General Act envisions the Office as a primary means of ensuring program integrity and promoting economy and efficiency in the Agency. The Office of Audits has assembled a professional staff fully qualified to fulfill this responsibility and assist the Agency in improving program outcomes. The office reports the results of reviews to GSA officials through audit reports and to Congress in the Semiannual Report to the Congress. This dual reporting responsibility helps to assure office independence and objectivity. Office of Audits customers include GSA management and contracting officials, the Congress, the Office of Management and Budget, the Government Accountability Office, and of course, the most important customer of all, the American taxpayer. The Office of Audits believes that nothing either our office or the Agency does is more crucial than our mutual duty to ensure that the taxpayer receives optimum value from GSA.
