A block of rooms has been reserved for symposium participants at two hotels in the Bethesda area for the nights of October 16-17, 2005. Both hotels are located within close proximity to the NIH campus. You are encouraged to make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. When making reservations, please refer to the hotel’s Group Number or the “Symposium for Ed Korn” to obtain the special rate. After September 17, the hotels will accept reservations on a space available basis at the prevailing hotel rate.

Due to very limited visitor parking, you are strongly encouraged to take a taxi or public transportation to the NIH campus. The Lipsett Auditorium is located in the Warren Grant Magnuson Clinical Center and is a 10 minute walk or a short shuttle bus ride from the subway.

Subway to NIH
Take the Red Line and exit at the Medical Center Station. The subway is available from Reagan National Airport and Union Station.

From Ronald Reagan National Airport - From airport Terminals B and C, take the pedestrian bridge to the metrorail’s Reagan National Airport Station located on the Yellow and Blue Line. Take a Yellow Line train to Gallery Place or take a Blue Line train to Metro Center and transfer to the Red Line. On the Red Line, take a train toward Shady Grove or Grosvenor to the Medical Center Station.

From Union Station - Union Station is located on the Red Line. Take a train toward Shady Grove or Grosvenor to the Medical Center Station.

 Directions to Lipsett Auditorium
Lipsett Auditorium is in the Warren Grant Magnuson Clinical Center (Building 10). To get to Building 10 from the Medical Center subway station, take the NIH campus shuttle bus which stops at the Metro station every 15-20 minutes, OR walk from the top of the escalators past the bus stops down South Drive. Keep straight and cross over Center Drive. Continue to walk straight up the hill. Building 10 is at the top of the hill on the right-hand side.
