Practitioners in areas related to hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases as well as academic generalists should be interested in a recording of the Webcast of a recent NHLBI-sponsored scientific conference entitled, "Hypertension: From Gene to Community". The one-day conference occurred on August 25, 2000, as a satellite symposium to the International Society of Hypertension 18th Scientific Meeting. The co-chairmen of the symposium were Dr. Claude Lenfant, Director of NHLBI, and Dr. Jeffrey Cutler, Director of the Clinical Applications and Prevention Program, Division of Epidemiology and Clinical Applications, NHLBI.

In addition to a keynote talk by Dr. Lenfant, the conference highlights nine speakers covering the broad spectrum of hypertension research and its application, in which NHLBI has major involvement, from molecular genetics to public health. Topics and speakers include:
