What's New in the Park?
What's New on the Web site!
The links below will take you to information on the Web site that is updated frequently or is of a timely nature for this time of year.
The leaves are starting to change, the squirrels are in the treetops flinging cones to the ground, and there is a nip in the air and frost on the cars in the morning. Fall is arriving soon.
Widgets
Glacier's RRS Newsfeed Widget and the Webcam Widget have been updated and the bugs fixed. Both can be downloaded from our Widget Page.
Going-to-the-Sun Road Fall Access
Starting on September 15th the section of road between Avalanche Creek and Logan Pass will be closed to allow for rehabilitation and reconstruction work on the Going-to-the-Sun Road. Visitors will still be able to reach Logan Pass, but only from the east side. The following week, on September 22 that section will reopen to traffic. Also on September 22 the section of road between Siyeh Bend and Logan Pass on the east side of the park will close for the season to allow for road reconstruction work below the east tunnel. Visitors will no longer be able to reach Logan Pass from the east side, but will be able to access the Pass from the reopened west side section. The west side of the Going-to-the-Sun Road will remain open to traffic as long as weather permits.
