Career Opportunities
ODOT is actively involved in developing Oregon's system of highways and bridges, public transportation services, rail passenger and freight systems, and bicycle and pedestrian paths. There are currently employment opportunities for all levels of engineers ranging from high school student to registered Professional Engineer.   ODOT has a four level professional engineering series designed to develop staff into professional engineering experts in a variety of technical transportation‑related disciplines. Entry into the professional series requires classification as an Engineer Intern or Engineer-in-Training; or a degree that qualifies the applicant to take the Oregon State Board of Examiners for Engineering and Land Surveying (OSBEELS) Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. Once employed, ODOT offers mentoring and training opportunities to meet the criteria for obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

There are a number of management level and supervisory positions available for seasoned professionals in many of ODOT’s engineering disciplines*.  Visit www.odotjobs.com to view current openings and then subscribe to receive notification when positions are newly posted.  The programs below describe opportunities for students and new graduates to enter ODOT’s professional series.
