Industrial homework (piecework) has restrictions on WHO can work and WHAT can be done at home.
Home workers must keep record of hours worked and receive AT LEAST minimum wage and overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a week.
Disabled workers (physical or mental) need to apply for a certificate to be home worker.
If company employs home workers in the following restricted industries, must apply for certificate through Wage and Hour Division national office: Knitted outerwear; Handkerchiefs; Gloves; Buttons & buckles; Mittens; Non-hazardous jewelry; Embroidered articles.
HOMEWORK NOT ALLOWED FOR: women's, children's and infant clothing
