The Issue: The challenges facing this country require instilling environmental values, behaviors and literacy to the public while developing a highly skilled, technologically capable workforce.

Sea Grant: Sea Grant efforts have and will continue to contribute to improving marine and aquatic science literacy by enhancing education among formal K-12, undergraduate and graduate students, and informal sessions with both children and adults. Increased value in marine and aquatic science education by the American public is critical to national security, economic development and the overall quality of life for everyone.
