Latino Community Profile: Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Area

The number of Latinos residing in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area increased dramatically between 1980 and 1990. During this period, the percent of Latinos in the area doubled--increasing from 3 to 6 percent of the total population. This document describes the Latino community in terms of population statistics, area of residence, national origin, education, age, income, occupation, and language preference.
