Assistive Technology of Minnesota
STAR Program
ATMn* is a nonprofit organization that provides access to life changing equipment for people with disabilities. ATMn* is a lifeline to financial assistance, education, information and resources throughout Minnesota. ATMn* helps Minnesotans with disabilities by increasing self-sufficiency at work, home, at school and in the community.
Consumer Directed Community Supports Service (CDCS)

Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS) is a unique service option that gives persons more flexibility and responsibility for directing their services and supports, including hiring and managing direct care staff. CDCS may include services, support and/or items currently available through the MA waivers, as well as additional allowable services that provide needed support to persons.
General Assistance

The General Assistance (GA) Program serves as Minnesota’s primary safety net for single adults and childless couples. The GA program provides monthly cash grants for vulnerable persons whose income and resources are less than program limits.
Group Residential Housing Program

Group Residential Housing (GRH) is a state-funded income supplement program that pays for room-and-board costs for low-income adults who have been placed in a licensed or registered setting with which a county human service agency has negotiated a monthly rate.

Aging Board

The MinnesotaHelp.info web site was developed cooperatively by the Minnesota Board on Aging and the Department of Human Services. It is an online directory of services designed to help people in Minnesota identify resources such as human services, information and referral, financial assistance, and other forms of aid and assistance within Minnesota. It is especially rich in resource information for seniors and their caregivers, disabled and their caregivers, parents and families, and low-income people.
Paratransit Service
Metropolitan Council
ADA Paratransit Service is available for people who are unable or have extreme difficulty using regular route transit service because of a disability or health condition. ADA Paratransit Service provides "first-door-through-first-door" transportation in 89 communities throughout the metropolitan area for persons who are ADA-certified. Note: all regular route buses and trains are fully accessible.
State Operated Community Services

Residential, day training and habilitation, vocational and other services provided by Department of Human Services' State Operated Services (SOS) to people with developmental disabilities are in single statewide network called Minnesota State Operated Community Services (MSOCS). MSOCS is committed to supporting people in ways that allow the person to live the most inclusive life possible.

State Operated Services (SOS) consists of an array of campus and community-based programs serving people with mental illness, developmental disabilities, chemical dependency and traumatic brain injury. It includes regional treatment centers (RTCs) in Anoka, Brainerd, Fergus Falls, St. Peter and Willmar; Ah-Gwah-Ching, the state nursing home in Walker; Community Support Services; and Minnesota State Operated Community Services. SOS Forensic Services serve the entire state and include the Minnesota Security Hospital in St. Peter, the Minnesota Sex Offender Program in Moose Lake and St. Peter and the Minnesota Extended Treatment Options program in Cambridge. SOS also administers the Health Source Clinic, which provides dental services in Cambridge, and the Southern Cities Clinic, which provides dental and psychiatric services in Faribault.

Telephone Service Discount Programs
Public Utilities Commission
Minnesota local service providers are authorized to provide discount programs designed to promote universal service by providing low-income individuals with new telephone service installations and monthly telephone service discounts. Additional programs are available for qualifying persons on a reservation.

Ticket To Work assists people receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits based on disability obtain employment and earn enough money to end the need for cash benefits.
