Government Resources
Administration for Children and Families - is a federal agency funding state, local, and tribal organizations to provide family assistance (welfare), child support, child care, Head Start, child welfare, and other programs relating to children and families.
Afterschool.gov - Connecting you to federal resources that support children and youth during out-of-school hours.
Child Care Aware - Child Care Aware can put you in touch with child care referral agencies in your geographical area.
Child Care Resources Handbook - This handbook was developed by the Office of Personnel Management primarily to put employees in touch with the many free resource organizations and agencies around the country that can help them meet their childcare needs. It provides practical tips on how to find quality child care, and places to call for further information on related topics, such as obtaining financial assistance.
Childcare.gov - Childcare.gov is a new web site designed to bring all of the Federal agency resources about child care together in one place. You will be able to find Federal funding sources, keep up to date on safety alerts, find and share promising practices and much more.
Gateway to Government Food Safety Information - This page has a list of Consumer Advice links geared towards women and child care providers. These are all both federal, state, and local web sites.
How to Report Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect - If you suspect that a child is being abused or neglected, you should call your local Child Protective Services (CPS) agency or the CPS agency in the State in which the abuse occurred. If a number is not listed, or if you need to report suspected abuse in a State other than your own, please call Childhelp's National Child Abuse Hotline 800-4-A-CHILD.
Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH) - The Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH) ensures safe, decent, and affordable housing, creates opportunities for residents' self-sufficiency and economic independence, and assures the fiscal integrity of all program participants.
