Agricultural Biotechnology - The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is primarily responsible for regulating biotechnology in the United States.
Economic Research Service - USDA - is the main source of economic information and research from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Its mission is to inform and enhance public and private decisionmaking on economic and policy issues related to agriculture, food, natural resources, and rural development.
EPA - Ground Water and Drinking Water - The Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water, together with states, tribes, and our many partners, will protect public health by ensuring safe drinking water and protecting ground water.
EPA - What the Pesticide Residue Limits are on Food - EPA sets limits on how much of a pesticide residue can remain on food. These pesticide residue limits are known as tolerances. Tolerances are set to protect you from harmful levels of pesticides on your food. Inspectors from the Food and Drug Administration and the United States Department of Agriculture monitor food in interstate commerce to ensure that these limits are not exceeded.

FoodSafety.Gov - Reporting Illnesses and Product Complaints - This page lists links to different government agencies according to the type of product or food.
FSIS - Conversations With America - is a reinventing government initiative to engage federal workers in two-way conversations with their customers, the American public, on how to improve customer service.

FSIS - USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline - is a toll-free telephone service that helps consumers prevent foodborne illness, specifically by answering their questions about safe storage, handling, and preparation of meat and poultry products.
Gateway to Government Food Safety Information - This page has a list of Consumer Advice links geared towards women and child care providers. These are all both federal, state, and local web sites.
U.S. Food and Drug Administration - has a mission is to promote and protect the public health by helping safe and effective products reach the market in a timely way, and monitoring products for continued safety after they are in use.
