National Institute On Early Childhood Development and Education (ECI) - carries out a comprehensive program of research, development, and dissemination to improve early childhood development and learning.
Office of Head Start - Administers the Head Start Program for preschool children from low-income families. It provides comprehensive development services for America's low-income, pre-school children ages three to five and social services for their families. Grants to conduct Head Start programs are awarded to local public or private, non-profit agencies.
