State-based Metropolitan and Micropolitan Statistical Areas Maps

Metropolitan, micropolitan, and combined statistical areas are defined by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas (collectively known as core based statistical areas) consist of one or more counties. Combined statistical areas consist of multiple metropolitan or micropolitan statistical areas. These page-size state maps show the boundaries of each state, the counties within the state, and the CBSAs that are either completely or partially within the state. Maps are provided for each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. CBSA boundaries and names are as of November, 2004. All other boundaries and names are as of January 1, 2002.
The naming convention for these files is 'cbsa2004_XX.pdf' where XX stands for the respective postal abbreviation (i.e. Alabama = cbsa2004_AL.pdf).
