EPA

This section of the EPA Climate Change Site provides information on energy-related state carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, state greenhouse gas emission inventories and methodological guidance:

Energy CO2 Emissions by State

This sub-section provides estimates of carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel combustion, by state, calculated using fuel consumption data from State Energy Data Reports compiled by the U.S. Department of Energy, Energy Information Administration. CO2 emissions from energy account for approximately 80% of total US greenhouse gas emissions.

State GHG Inventories

This sub-section provides information about and links to state-authored greenhouse gas inventories. In addition, EPA has developed state inventory summaries with standardized methodologies and sources to facilitate comparison across states.

Inventory Guidance

This sub-section provides guidance to states on methods and data for developing greenhouse gas inventories for a range of sources and gases.
