The Coast Guard Hearing Office is an independent Headquarters Unit, operating under the technical control of the Chief Counsel, responsible for the adjudication of Coast Guard civil penalty cases. The Hearing Office handles about 6,000 cases per year through sites at Arlington, Virginia.
This site exists to inform charged parties and their representatives about the process to facilitate fair, effective, and efficient case adjudication. This site complements materials provided with preliminary notice. The site provides an email link to answer additional process questions you may have, to allow you to make suggestions to improve this site, and/or provide feedback on your experience with the process.
