Under the direction of the Director of Personnel Management, (CG-12), the Office of Military Personnel (CG-122) is responsible for all Coast Guard military personnel management policies.  The Chief of the Office of Military Personnel also serves as the President of the Uniform Board, Discharge Review Board (DRB), Selective Reenlistment Bonus (SRB) Panel, Special Duty Assignment Pay (SDAP) Panel, Enlisted & Officer Accession Bonus Panels and the Critical Skills Retention Bonus (CSRB) Panel.

Policy and Standards Division (CG-1221)
  Establishes policies that define and shape the military workforce, including:   CG-1221 administers programs for:
  • Uniform Regulations and Distribution
  • Medals and Awards
  • Weight/Physical Fitness Program
  • Veteran's Education Benefits
  • Urinalysis
  • Voting Assistance
  • Financial Support to Dependents

In addition the Office of Military Personnel is the program manager for the Personnel Command and the Recruiting Command.

The Coast Guard Personnel Command (CGPC) executes personnel actions under the authority of established personnel policy. They are responsible for personnel actions including: assignments, evaluations, advancements/promotions, physical disabilities, separations and retirements. CGPC is the primary interface with the field for individual personnel actions.

The Coast Guard Recruiting Command (CGRC) administers recruiting for active duty and reserve programs.
