Environmental Management Systems (EMS)

Federal agencies are required by Executive Order 13148 to have EMSs at appropriate facilities by December 31, 2005. An EMS can help an organization not just reduce its impact on the environment, but also to improve its efficiency of operations. An EMS is a set of processes and practices used to achieve these ends.
