To whom it may concern,

How dare the committee include cross slopes, tabled crosswalks (for the layman - speed humps) as an accessible design.

Were you not listening when we told you of the problems these cause for people driving or riding in a motor vehicle that have certain disabilities. Is the Guideline for Accessible Public Rights-of-Way just for the pedestrians?

Some of us can only move about in our communities via vehicles.

Please understand that to say it's okay to use tabled crosswalks is the same as saying it is okay to put in speed humps on the streets. Many of us have already asked you to prohibit the use of these features.

I do not want to be imprisoned in my own home because you advised that the use of these painful devices be used to help others.

Don't you dare punish me, claiming to help others with these damnable tabled crosswalks.

You have no studies, that I am aware of, that say these tables or raised crosswalks are safe for people who have similar disabilities as my own. You can't even say they are efficient, much less convenient for our mobility needs.

Again, I will remind you that not all of us can walk any distance to speak of, or can sit to ride in a wheelchair everywhere. We are mobile via our motor vehicles and usually with someone else driving. Why make buildings accessible if I can't get there.

Pay Attention PLEASE !!!
