Due to funding availability, NASA has selected an additional nine research
proposals for negotiation of Phase 2 contract awards for NASA's Small
Business Innovation Research (SBIR) 2000 Program on February 13, 2002.
The combined award total for the nine Phase 2 contracts is expected to
be $5.4 million.
NASA initially selected 126 research proposals for negotiation of Phase
2 contract awards for NASA's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)
2000 Program on November 20, 2001. The goals of this NASA program are
to stimulate technological innovation, increase the use of small business
(including women-owned and disadvantaged firms) in meeting federal research
and development needs, and increase private sector commercialization of
results of federally funded research.
