NOAA Ship FAIRWEATHER

Welcome to the NOAA Ship FAIRWEATHER website.
The FAIRWEATHER is operated by NOAA Marine and Aviation Operations. Reactivated in 2004 to aid in the backlog of critical survey areas in Alaskan coastal waters, the ship is based out of Ketchikan, Alaska.

Using advanced sonar technology, the crew of the FAIRWEATHER conducts hydrographic surveys for the primary purpose of providing the mariner with the latest information for safe navigation.
