National Crime Victims' Rights Week
Planning Online: OVC offers the National Calendar of Crime Victim Assistance-Related Events to help you coordinate your NCVRW activities with other national victim-related observances planned for April. Use it to plan ahead or to submit field events.
Leading up to the national commemoration, OVC held two prelude events in the Nation's capital. Early registrants to the award ceremony received a free screensaver CD.
The following resources are available to help communities and victim assistance providers promote awareness of crime victim issues and help commemorate NCVRW:

The DVD does not include a PSA, but you can still view and download the 2005 PSAs online. The 2007 Resource Guide DVD provides an introduction to crime victims' rights. You can view the video in its entirety or preview a 1-minute clip with the online clip gallery. Attorney General's Crime Victims' Service Awards OVC annually recognizes individuals and organizations that demonstrate outstanding service in supporting victims and victim services. The award recipients are extraordinary individuals and programs that provide services to victims of crime. The 2007 award recipients were announced on April 20, 2007, at the awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. In 2007, the recipients were honored by U.S. Attorney General, Alberto R. Gonzalez, during the awards ceremony held on April 20, 2007. OVC Director John W. Gillis and Assistant Attorney General for OJP, Regina B. Schofield, also helped honor the award winners. Visit the 2007 NCVRW Award Recipients page for the honorees' biographies and photographs, or download the Program for the event (PDF 332 kb). NCVRW Community Awareness Projects OVC helps communities conduct public awareness initiatives during NCVRW with funding support for Community Awareness Projects (CAPs). For 2007, the National Association of VOCA Assistance Administrators (NAVAA) has competitively selected the 64 communities to receive CAP support from OVC. The 64 communities selected are public agencies, nonprofit programs, community-based victim service organizations, faith-based organizations, and community coalitions. For more information on this initiative, projects supported in previous years, and tips for promoting community awareness, visit Community Awareness Projects: Raising Public Awareness of NCVRW.
