Availability of and access to quality
health care services directly affects all aspects of women’s
health. For women who have poor health status, disabilities,
poverty, lack of insurance, and limited access to a range
of health services, preventive treatment and rehabilitation
can be critical in preventing disease and improving quality
of life.
This section presents data on women’s
health services utilization, including data on insurance
coverage, usual source of care, satisfaction with care,
use of medication, and use of various services, such as
preventive care, HIV testing, and mental health services.
The contribution of HRSA to women’s health across
the country is highlighted, as well.
