CDC

CDC is the lead federal agency and health authority for The National Fruit and Vegetable Alliance (NFVA) and works with partners and state coordinators to promote increased fruit and vegetable consumption. As a partner in the National Fruit and Vegetable Alliance, the Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity, DNPAO collaborated with public and private partners to launch the new Fruits & Veggies – More MattersĀ® brand, and continues to promote the brand and messages. DNPAO also works in the areas of fruit and vegetable research and monitoring of fruit and vegetable consumption.

 
National Cancer Institute

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), one of eight agencies that compose the Public Health Service (PHS) in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The National Cancer Institute coordinates the National Cancer Program, which conducts and supports research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs with respect to the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer, rehabilitation from cancer, and the continuing care of cancer patients and the families of cancer patients.

Body & Soul

Among its programs, NCI coordinates Body & Soul, a wellness program for African American Churches.

 
USDA

The USDA Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion (CNPP) works to improve the health and well-being of Americans by developing and promoting dietary guidance that links scientific research to the nutrition needs of consumers. The CNPP developed MyPyramid to help Americans choose foods and amounts that are right for them.

 
American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society* is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and reducing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

 
FDA

The Food and Drug Administration is one of the nation's oldest and most respected consumer protection agencies. The FDA is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, our nation's food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation.

 
National Council of Fruit and Vegetable Nutrition Coordinators

The National Council of Fruit and Vegetable Nutrition Coordinators* is comprised of state and territorial nutrition coordinators, formerly known as 5-A-Day coordinators, and is a council under the Association of State and Territorial Public Health Nutrition Directors.
