Following are a few suggestions that will make your experience with For Your Heart more enjoyable.

Monitor Settings

For Your Heart was designed for viewing on a 17 inch monitor at 800 x 600 pixels for PC compatibles; 832 x 624 pixels for Macintosh.  If you find the text difficult to read, or if your page does not fit the width of your monitor, you should follow the steps below to configure your monitor to the recommended settings.

For PC compatibles
  • Click the Start button at the bottom left hand corner of your desktop. This opens the Start Menu.
  • Position your mouse over the word Settings. This opens a submenu containing three options. Of these three, click Control Panel. This opens the Control Panel window.
  • Click Display. This opens the Display Properties window.
  • Click the tab labeled Settings.
  • Locate the slider in the section labeled Desktop Area. Click on the slider and drag it left or right until the reading is 800 x 600 pixels.
  • Click Apply.
  • A window will appear asking you if you are sure you want to change your display settings. Click OK.
For Macintosh
  • Click the Apple at the top left-hand corner of your desktop. This opens the About this Macintosh menu.
  • Position your mouse over the words Control Panels. This opens a submenu containing many options. Choose Monitors & Sound. This displays the Monitors & Sound window.
  • In the box labeled Resolution, click the option listed as 832 x 624.

Browser Recommendations

For Your Heart is compatible with the latest internet browsers. To ensure optimal performance, please take a moment to close other applications and then download the newest version of your browser.

Java and Javascript Compatibility

For Your Heart uses JavaScript to help create your personalized web site. Please take a few moments to ensure your browser is currently supporting JavaScript.

For Microsoft Internet Explorer
  • In the top menu bar, click View to open the view menu.
  • Click Internet Options to open the Internet Options window.
  • Select Advanced from the tabs at the top of the Internet Options window.
  • Use the slider located on the right side of the window to locate Java VM. You will see two options beneath Java VM. If they are not already checked, select each of the options.
  • Click Apply.
  • Click OK.
For Netscape Navigator (4.0)
  • In the top menu bar, click Edit to open the Edit menu.
  • Click Preferences to open the Preferences window.
  • Click Advanced in the list of options displayed in the Preferences window.
  • Make sure that Enable Java and Enable JavaScript have check marks next to them. If they do not, click once on both of these items to enable Java and JavaScript.
  • Click OK.
For Netscape Navigator (3.0 or earlier)
  • In the top menu bar, click Options to open the Options menu.
  • Click Network Preferences to open the Preferences window.
  • Click Languages in the list of options displayed.
  • Click Enable Java and Enable JavaScript to enable both Java and JavaScript.
  • Click OK.
