The Partnership for Reading is committed to serving and assisting educators, policy-makers, families, and others who work with children and adults to become fluent readers.

Teachers in public and private schools, especially those who teach in grades K-3, when the foundations of reading skills are built.

Principals, superintendents, other district administrators, and school board members responsible for making decisions about curriculum design, the delivery of instruction, and the development of the teaching staff.

State education administrators who set policies and standards on the teaching of reading and the reading skills students are expected to master.

Parents who want to support their children's reading skills at home, work with their children's teachers to reinforce what's happening at school, and advocate for more effective instruction in their children's classrooms.

Teacher educators, including in-service professional development and technical assistance providers, as well as teacher education colleges and universities.

Education support agencies and organizations (such as the American Federation of Teachers, the National Education Association, the Council of Chief State School Officers, the National Association of School Boards, and the National Association of Elementary School Principals and others) whose endorsement and support of evidence-based reading instruction can contribute to systemic change.
