Environmental Education Grants

Announcements

The Grants Program sponsored by EPA's Environmental Education Division (EED), Office of Children's Health Protection and Environmental Education, supports environmental education projects that enhance the public's awareness, knowledge, and skills to help people make informed decisions that affect environmental quality. EPA awards grants each year based on funding appropriated by Congress. Annual funding for the program ranges between $2 and $3 million. More than 75 percent of the grants awarded by this program receive less than $15,000.

Status of Future Funding for EE Grants

We anticipate that the 2009 Solicitation Notice will be posted here in the near future. Congress has not yet acted on the EPA budget or appropriated funding for the fiscal year 2009 environmental education grants program; grants will be contingent upon available funding.

Please check this site periodically to check on the status of funding for 2009. Because staff at EED do not have any additional information regarding future funding for this program, please continue to check here for updates, instead of calling or writing to EPA.

A copy of the 2008 Solicitation Notice is provided on this site for information only and to allow potential applicants to determine whether they could qualify for this program in the event that funding is forthcoming.
