District of Columbia Library for the Blind & Physically Handicapped

Provides a full range of library and information services to all persons with disabilities living in the District of Columbia in cooperation with the Library of Congress, hospitals, institutions, homes for the aged and schools.

Directory of schools including those that offer specialized services to increase opportunities for students with disabilities.

DC Rehabilitation Services Administration

Provides a variety of services and resources including assistive technology and independent living programs.

Easter Seals of the Greater Washington-Baltimore Region

Services offered include adult day services, child development centers and assistive technology demonstrations and evaluations.

Georgetown University Center for Child & Human Development

Works to improve the quality of life for all children and youth, especially those with, or at risk for, special needs and their families. Located in the nation's capital, this exceptional center both directly serves vulnerable children and their families, as well as influences local, state, national and international programs and policy.

Help-Your-Self, Inc.

A non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing accessibility for people with disabilities by providing tools and services to enable independent living, community integration, reduce barriers and educate to prevent injuries. Services include help with assisted living, education opportunities, enabling technologies, housing options, job searching and personal care assistant training.

Mayor's Committee on Persons with Disabilities of Washington, DC

Advocates and promotes societal inclusiveness and works jointly with human service providers, businesses, labor unions, local and federal governments to ensure their goal of empowering individuals with physical, mental and medical challenges.

PEPNet - Northeast

The Postsecondary Education Programs Network (PEPNet) provides resources, information, in-service training, and technical assistance for postsecondary institutions to improve existing services or to establish new services for students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Washington Center for Internships & Academic Seminars

Through a partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy, The Washington Center help students develop leadership skills and gain valuable work experience in public service. Competitive scholarship awards are offered to eligible student with disabilities interested in working in the executive, judicial or legislative branches of the federal government.
