Damaging Thunderstorm Winds in Columbus Georgia - June 27, 2004
Afternoon thunderstorms are common in Georgia during the summer months. Occasionally a few of the storms will become especially strong and produce strong straight-line winds. Damage associated with such storms is usually confined to broken limbs, and sometimes the downing of the entire tree. On June 27, such a storm hit a part of the city of Columbus, Georgia producing some damage to the roof and siding of an apartment building. Columbus, Georgia courtesy R. Reiss
