Med Week 2008

Dear Friends:

This year marks the 26th observance of national MED Week.  As a co-host of the workshop entitled, “Small Business Benefits from Free Trade Agreements”, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is proud to join the MBDA in celebrating “The Power of Strategic Alliances in the Global Economy.”

The SBA is proud of the vital role it plays in fostering minority small business success.  We will be highlighting some of these success stories during the MED Week Conference.    The SBA’s vast array of programs and resources are designed to help you grow and succeed.

Minority small businesses are one of the fastest growing sectors in the small business arena.  It is important that SBA continue to forge partnerships – such as the partnership with MBDA – to increase our ability to reach minority small business owners and educate them on SBA’s products and services.

The SBA will continue to help minority-owned small businesses gain access to contract opportunities and other forms of technical assistance.  I encourage you to use this opportunity to obtain valuable information and forge strategic business alliances that will enhance your competitiveness.

This is a great opportunity to congratulate the MED Week 2008 award recipients on their achievements, and applaud the efforts of corporate and government leaders who contribute to the success of minority small business, local communities, and the economy.

Congratulations to all of the MED Week 2008 award winners.  You are to be commended for your innovation, vision, and perseverance in pursuing your entrepreneurial dreams.

Sincerely,

Jovita Carranza
Acting Administrator
