It is currently finalizing its Fourth Assessment Report "Climate Change 2007." Polar Bears May Be Listed as Endangered Species: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USF&WS) has proposed a rule to list the Polar Bear as endangered under the Endangered Species Act due to loss of habitat from Arctic ice melt.
