USDA upgrades, expands, maintains and replaces America's vast rural electric infrastructure by making direct loans and loan guarantees to electric utilities to serve customers in rural areas.

Telecommunication Program

USDA has programs that finance rural America's telecommunications infrastructure. These programs help rural residents gain access to new and advanced services, technology and job opportunities.

Water and Environmental Programs

USDA provides technical assistance, loans, grants and loan guarantees for drinking water, sanitary sewer, solid waste and storm drainage facilities in rural areas, cities and towns. Public bodies, non-profit organizations and Indian tribes may qualify for assistance.
