What's New?
Moving to the new NIST Advanced Measurement
Laboratory?
If you're planning to move to the AML, you're
probably packing up your office and laboratory
right about now. Have you noticed any
old-looking equipment in a remote, dusty corner
that the former occupants of your lab or office
may have left behind?
Rather than surplusing the item or throwing it
away, the proper course of action is to check
with the NIST Museum Committee member from your
operational unit to see whether it should be
added to the NIST Museum's collections.
If the object is very large, the Museum may not
have space to store it. In that case, the
Museum staff can photograph and document the
item before it meets its final fate. The
following are the Museum Committee members to
talk to about historical objects:
-
MEL: Donald Eitzen or Richard Rhorer
-
CSTL: Edward White
-
EEEL: Dean Jarrett
-
PL: Albert Parr or Bob Dragoset
-
TS: Terrie Wheeler
-
BFRL: Robert Zarr
-
ITL: unfilled
-
MSEL unfilled
