Alternative Formats for USDA

Braille

As part of the USDA's commitment to ensure compliance with Section 508 requirements that all electronic and information technology be accessible to persons with disabilities, the USDA TARGET Center is the contact point and resource center for converting USDA information and documents into alternative formats. Alternative formats include Braille, large print, video description, diskette, and audiotape formats.

If you are putting on a conference, workshop, display, information booth, seminar or any event open to the public, be prepared to provide information in alternative formats for your attendees. It is a good idea to ask people when they register if they require any accommodations, including alternative formats for schedules, handouts, workbooks, and other important information. In addition, you should bring extra copies of distributed materials in alternative format for those people registering last minute or forgetting to ask for the accommodation.
