Programs and Services

The TARGET Center has eight workstations available for hands-on demonstrations and evaluations of assistive technologies. The workstations are equipped with a variety of hardware and software solutions, which provides accessibility to employees who are visually, hearing, speech, mobility or dexterity impaired. The Center also has portable stand-alone devices such as Braille notetakers and assistive listening devices.

The TARGET Center conducts needs assessments and technology demonstrations of assistive technologies and ergonomic solutions to aid employees in their work environment. Consultations are available to managers and procurement officials on accommodations that are cost effective and will assist employees in the work place.

Conduct or facilitate demonstrations of various accommodations and accessible technologies to aid employees with disabilities or the aging American in the work environment.

Resource Information
Provide and price resource information for specific products, vendors and consultants.

Resource Loans
USDA employees nationwide may borrow accommodations and technologies for evaluation at their work site or use for training classes.

Interpreting Services
Sign language interpreters, note takers and other accommodations are available for USDA events, conferences and meetings.  

Alternative Formats
Produce or facilitate the production of information in alternative formats such as Braille, large print, audio and video.
