Employee Corner
Federal Government Employees Health Insurance
The government is a leader in providing its employees with choices in health and life insurance benefits and complies with policies ranging from parental leave to equal employment opportunity that in the private sector apply only to relatively  large companies. It is a leader in the national drive to create a "family-friendly" workplace. And it provides a range of protections to ensure that employment-related decisions including promotions are made on the basis of merit. Serving the public through government employment is a noble career and one that strengthens our nation. The Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB)program is designed to help protect you  and eligible family members from the expenses of illness and accident.
Life Insurance
The Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) program, as the name implies, provides group term life insurance. In most cases, employees are automatically covered by Basic life insurance.
TSP Retirement

TheThrift Saving Plan (TSP) is a valuable way to build up a nest egg for your retirement. It's the government's version of the popular 401(k) plan. The TSP is a payroll withholding based plan. Investments are from pretax dollars and investment earnings are tax deferred until withdrawn. The Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) became effective in 1987, and almost all new Federal civilian employees hired after 1983 are automatically covered by this new retirement system.

Social Security Benefits
As an employee with FERS coverage, you have Social Security coverage. The term "Social Security" means benefit payments provided to workers and their dependents who qualify as beneficiaries under the Old-Age Survivors, and Disability Insurance programs of the Social Security Act.
Leave Holidays
Federal employees earn 13 days of annual and sick leave each leave year if they have less than three years of service. The Leave Handbook amplifies the principal requirements of law and regulations and provides procedural guidance for the administration of hours of work  and leave.
