Draft Bill Regarding TV Converter Box Coupon Program: To maximize coupon distribution, NTIA is seeking statutory flexibility to use, if necessary, available funds from other programs funded by the DTV Transition and Public Safety Act to cover administrative costs of the Coupon Program.

Federal Register Notice of Proposed Rule Making: Changes to TV Converter Box Coupon Program Regarding Households: NTIA proposes certain changes affecting its Digital-To-Analog Converter Box Coupon Program rules such as waiving the "eligible household" application requirements for individuals residing in nursing homes or other senior care facilities. Press Release: Commerce's NTIA Certifies More Than 250 Retailers and 19 Converter Box Models for TV Converter Box Coupon Program: The U. S. Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) announced today at the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow that more than 250 retailers, representing more than 15,000 outlets nationwide, are certified to participate in a program to aid in the transition to digital television. Also, 19 converter box models are eligible for purchase with the coupon and more are being tested as part of the certification process. To date, more than one million applicants have requested two million coupons.

Retailer Data Collection (DTV-1) (Acrobat PDF 104 Kb): Retail stores interested in participating in the Converter Coupon Program may contact NTIA starting June 1, 2007. Retailers should read Final Rule 301.6 to understand the requirements for participation. They should provide the information on the Retailer Data Collection form (DTV-1) and send it to DTV Converter Coupon Program, couponinfo@ntia.doc.gov, or fax it to (202) 482-4626.

Manufacturer's Notice of Intent (Form DTV-3) (Acrobat PDF 89 Kb): Manufacturers intending to submit digital-to-analog converter boxes to NTIA for certification as part of the Converter Coupon Program should complete the Notice of Intent form (DTV-3) and follow the instructions in Final Rule 301.5(a).

Amendment to Request for Proposals: On April 20, the NOAA Acquisition and Grants Office issued an amendment with changes to the Request for Proposals, including an extension of the deadline to submit proposals to 2 P.M. EST, May 7, 2007.
