The City defines specific program expectations within the RFP and provides the corridors with some flexibility in execution. By focusing significant investment in defined areas for a specific duration, the City expects to realize noticeable, significant transformation and private investment on these blocks.
Corridor management organizations will be selected by the City based on responses to this RFP. Proposals are due by 5PM Sept. 19, 2008.
The Commerce Dept will conduct a public briefing to review this RFP with potential applicants at 10:00 am on Monday, August 25, 2008 at 1515 Arch Street, 18th Floor, Room 18-022.

Global Philadelphia
In the summer of 2003, the Managing Director's Office (MDO)
launched "Global
Philadelphia" to unify the City's efforts to strengthen the relationship
between diverse linguistic communities and the City by improving Philadelphia's
language accessibility. Consistent with the MDO's mission, Global
Philadelphia's primary focus is the building of sustainable infrastructure
within and across departments to ensure meaningful access to City services
for all Philadelphians, including individuals with limited English
proficiency. To that end, the MDO is issuing this Request for
Proposals for the provision and management of three distinct categories
of services: (1) document translation, (2) in-person interpretation,
and (3) telephonic interpretation. An Applicant may submit
up to three proposals, one for each category.
