Required Posters

Required civil rights posters are listed below with instructions on where to display them and how they can be obtained.  In addition, guidance is provided on the use of the nondiscrimination statement.

USDA Secretary's Civil Rights Policy Statement - The Secretary's statement should be prominently displayed in each NRCS office. Please visit http://www.usda.gov/da/CRPolicy.htm to view or download this statement. An email can be sent to Annette.james@usda.gov to request this poster.

The following documents require Adobe Acrobat.

  • The Civil Rights posters below are to be prominently displayed in all offices where there is an NRCS presence. The posters are to be placed where they can be viewed by employees and customers. Please be advised that these required posters should be displayed in a specific size: 11" width x 17" height. This size requirement relates to a problem where the text of the poster becomes small and almost unreadable when the poster is printed in a typical printer's print size of 8.5" x 11". Very few organizations have printers capable of printing the required size for displaying the posters. The Internet copies of the posters are shared for the purpose of reference rather than for printing and display.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) prohibits discrimination in all its programs and activities on the basis of race, color,  national origin, age, disability, and where applicable, sex, marital status, familial status, parental status, religion, sexual orientation, genetic information, political beliefs, reprisal, or because all or a part of an individual's income is derived from any public assistance program. (Not all prohibited bases apply to all programs.) Persons with disabilities who require alternative means for communication of program information (Braille, large print, audiotape, etc.) should contact USDA's TARGET Center at (202) 720-2600 (voice and TDD).  To file a complaint of discrimination write to USDA, Director, Office of Civil Rights, 1400 Independence Avenue, S.W., Washington, D.C. 20250-9410 or call (800) 795-3272 (voice) or (202) 720-6382 (TDD).
