OJT

 
  NOAA and The National Weather Service encourage it's employees to obtain job performance skills to the full extent possible in service to the public. NOAA and the National Weather Service also encourage experienced staff to pass along their very valuable acquired knowledge to less experienced or lesser trained co-workers. OJT (On the Job Training) is a time-proven methodology that answers the call. OJT is a performance enhancement solution when direct one on one task instruction is needed, or is the most feasible or practical training solution, or when other solutions are unavailable. And OJT is certainly the most highly customized and interactive How To training option. At the National Weather Service Forecast Office, it is the SOO (Science and Operations Officer) who has been changed with overseeing local training initiatives, and thus likely it is the SOO that manages local OJT programs.
