Welcome!

The Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies (CINT) is a Department of Energy/Office of Science Nanoscale Science Research Center (NSRC) operating as a national user facility devoted to establishing the scientific principles that govern the design, performance, and integration of nanoscale materials.

CINT is one of five NSRCs throughout the U.S. that form an integrated national program, affiliated with major facilities at the DOE’s National Laboratories, to cover the diverse aspects of nanoscience and technology. This complex aspires to become a cornerstone of the nation’s nanotechnology revolution, contributing to DOE’s principal missions in national defense, energy, and the environment while providing an invaluable resource for universities and industries.

Through its core facility in Albuquerque with gateways to both Los Alamos and Sandia national laboratories, CINT provides open access to tools and expertise needed to explore the continuum from scientific discovery to the integration of nanostructures into the micro- and macro world.

Call for Proposals is open!
The CINT Fall 2008 Call for Proposals is open from August 5 to September 26th. We are accepting new and renewal proposals. Renewal proposals are needed for all 2007 proposals and the 2008 Rapid Access proposals. Please see the Call for details, or go straight to the proposal submission database.

Proposals accepted:
CINT has just completed the spring 2008 proposal round. There were 174 proposals submitted, with 162 of those being accepted. The new user agreements are being sent to all of the institutions between May 27 and June 8, with the PIs being copied on the emails. The next call for proposals will come out in late summer. If you have a short project on a quick timeline, you can always submit a Rapid Access proposal.

Planning a visit to CINT:
If you, or anyone on your project, anticipates coming to CINT to work this summer or fall, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible. The process required to have foreign nationals on site is taking longer than usual, taking anywhere between 2 to 3 months. For US citizens, please let us know at least a week in advance of your visit, so that we can have everything ready for your arrival. Please email cint@lanl.gov, to inform us of a visit.
