Who is Eligible for this Program?
Unit Health Promotion Coordinator Training is available to
active duty or reserve members who are designated in writing by their
command to assume the collateral duty of primary or alternate UHPC.
Purpose of Program
The Unit Health Promotion Coordinator Training provides
students with the knowledge, tools and skills necessary to fulfill the
collateral duty role of the UHPC as defined in the Health Promotion Manual (COMDTINST M6200.1A)
and required by the Coast Guard Weight and Body Fat Standards Program
Manual (COMDTINST M1020.8G).

requirements for UHPC Training.
Requesting Training
Members who have been designated by the command to assume the role of
primary or alternate UHPC should contact their Health Promotions Manager for information about the training
dates available in their area. Members should submit the following documents
to the regional HPM when applying for training:
UHPC Course Information
This course is a five day resident training. Each District
holds at least one training annually. Travel costs associated with this
training are funded by HQ and orders are provided by TQC.
Qualifications
The responsibility of being a UHPC extends beyond a passion and desire to be
physically fit. Commands should make the best effort possible to assign an
individual who demonstrates balanced, healthy lifestyle practices. That
individual should meet the following qualifications:
