Early Intervention Birth-3 Services
If your child is under age three and has special needs, or you are worried about the way your baby or toddler is developing, your family may qualify for services to support his/her development. An evaluation of your child’s development will be used to determine his/her eligibility for Early Intervention (EI) services. If your child is determined eligible, you, the EI specialists and others important to your child’s life will develop an Individual Family Service Plan to support and enhance your child’s development. See developmental screening document at ITEIP (external).
EI services and supports can fit into your child’s and family's daily activities and routines. Services may occur in your home, child-care center or other community settings. Your family will participate as full partners with the EI specialists in supporting your child’s development.
Federal law requires that EI services are available to eligible families with children under age 3. For more information see Laws and Regulations.
